Breathe new life into your old jewelry pieces with Charlie Dolly’s innovative Repurpose Program. “Honor everything precious and old,” says Charlie Dolly founder Rebecca Romjin of her love for antiques including fine jewelry. Through Charlie Dolly’s latest initiative, send in your forgotten diamond pieces to be repurposed into timeless floating diamonds to be reintroduced into your jewelry collection.

Using a unique to the industry laser piercing technique, Charlie Dolly will take an old engagement ring or outdated earrings and breathe new life into them with a modern design to recreate a timeless new piece. Following a mantra to “upcycle, repurpose, respect, protect, and re-love,” the sustainable program allows you to take your outdated jewelry sitting in a box, and recycle it into something new.

“It plays into my love of antiques and old houses,” Romijn says of her inspiration for the new Repurpose Program. The importance of taking something old and making it sparkly, stylish, and new is embedded into sustainability — something that was instilled in Romijn from a young age. Romijn learned the value of older things from her Dutch grandmother who was an avid antique collector. “I grew up loving old things, not just old houses, but old things. And aside from the fact that in terms of sustainability, it’s the way to go, I feel like it’s the socially environmentally responsible thing to do,” she says.

Aside from being a mother, designer, model, and fashion icon, Romjin also enjoys being a preservationist of old homes. Born and raised in Berkeley, California, she currently resides in an older, bohemian-style home in Chelsea, New York that she took over from an artist couple. Romjin prides herself in repurposing and the upkeep of her antique home, alongside her husband and twin daughters, Charlie and Dolly.

Diamonds last forever but like any older treasure, they need to be cared for, repurposed, and recycled into something that could be re-loved in the modern day. Simply send in your older jewelry pieces to be redone into a timeless floating diamond for something that looks and feels new, but has the authenticity of a precious antique.
